We update core, themes and plugins every month on a staging copy first, run a visual regression check so an update does not quietly break your layout, and only then push to production. Daily off-site backups are verified rather than assumed, and a monthly restore test proves they work. If something does go wrong, malware cleanup is included rather than being an emergency invoice.
