Most people have no way to judge whether four lakhs for a website is fair or absurd, and the person quoting is not impartial. Forward the quote and the scope document and a senior engineer reads it the way we would read a competitor's proposal: what is actually being promised, what is conspicuously missing, whether the number matches the work, and which clauses would worry us. You get a written verdict and the questions to put back to the vendor. We do not bid for the work we are reviewing.
