Overview

What this engagement is

Stock says twelve on the website and two in Tally. Someone is now apologising to a customer. Integrating an ERP with a web application is mostly about deciding, in advance, which system wins when they disagree, and what happens when one of them is down. We build a sync service with an outbox pattern so nothing is lost during downtime, field-level mapping you can read without a developer, and an audit log showing exactly which record changed, when, and in which direction.

Deliverables

What lands in your repositories

7 items
  • Sync service between your ERP and web application, one or two way as scoped
  • Field mapping documented in a sheet your operations team can read
  • Conflict resolution rules agreed per entity and enforced in code
  • Outbox and retry handling so records survive downtime on either side
  • Audit log of every synced record with direction, timestamp and result
  • Alerting on sync failure and on records stuck in retry
  • Reconciliation report comparing both systems on a schedule

Outcomes

What changes once it ships

One source of truth per field, agreed and enforced

Downtime on either side delays the sync rather than losing data

An audit trail that settles disputes about what changed

Process

How the 4 stages run

  1. 01

    Map

entities, fields and the authoritative system for each are agreed

  2. 02

    Design

conflict rules, sync frequency and failure behaviour are written down

  3. 03

    Build

service developed and run in shadow mode against real data

  4. 04

    Cut over

sync enabled per entity, starting with the lowest risk

Booked most often by

  • Retailers whose online stock never matches the warehouse
  • Companies keying the same order into two systems
  • Finance teams reconciling ERP and web sales manually

What we need from you

  • API or database access to the ERP, and a sandbox instance if one exists
  • Someone who knows the ERP well enough to answer field questions
  • Decisions on which system is authoritative for each data type

These are collected in the technical brief that opens in your dashboard the moment payment clears. The clock starts when they arrive, not before.

Answers

Questions this engagement raises

Tally, Zoho Books, SAP Business One, Odoo and Microsoft Dynamics. Others are possible where an API exists.

Then we work through file exports or a database view. It is slower and we will tell you the trade-offs before you order.

Near real time for orders, scheduled for master data. The frequency is agreed per entity during mapping.

This is engineering work, not a physical product — nothing ships and there is no stock to run out of. Delivery is to the working days stated above, into systems you control, and the refund terms set out what happens if we miss the date.
